The Region Seefeld – Tirols Hochplateau is located on a sunny plateau, adjacent to the largest Naturarea in Central Europe the “Alpenpark Karwendel” and also nearby the Wetterstein Mountains. Despite all these mountains, Seefeld still has the “great to be alive” feeling!
There are several towns belonging to the Region Seefeld – Tirols Hochplateau, and these are Leutasch, Mösern, Reith and Scharnitz. For everyone who loves nature, the Region Seefeld – Tirols Hochplateau which got it´s name recognition through the Olympic Games (1964-1976), has much to offer in Winter but of course also in spring, summer and autumn time.
The pedestrian zone is a pleasure to stroll through with many shops, Restaurants, Cafes, Bars, a Casino and the “Olympia Center” which is great for swimming and relaxing. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, waterslides, saunas, solarium and further a cinema with the latest movies.
In the Winter you will find there an ice rink for iceskating or to play a game of a typical Austrian game; “Eisstockschiessen“, as in Curling.
Region Seefeld – Tirols Hochplateau is very easy to reach by car, train or by plane and you will find that this area is a great base to start your day trips.
It is only just 25 km from Innsbruck, the Capital of Tyrol and known as Host-City for the Olympic Games but Innsbruck is also known for of its “Altstadt”, the old town city centre including the house with the “Golden Roof”.
The Airport of Innsbruck is only 20 km from Seefeld.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany is a beautiful day trip and 35 km from Seefeld, but if you go a little further, Munich at 125 km from Seefeld is also easily accessible by car or by train.
Munich Airport is 150km from Region Seefeld – Tirols Hochplateau.
When the south attracts more, you can drive to the Brenner Pass (Italy), which is only 35 km from Innsbruck and here you will find several Italian villages that are easy to reach as day trips from Region Seefeld – Tirols Hochplateau. At the Brenner there is a large Shopping Outlet if you like shopping.
